Hello eveybody,

I attended the PMP exam and passed the test at 155 (to pass test,
you have to get 137), I did not take the professional responsibility
well (19/29=65.5%), the others are 145/171==85%, the toal
mark is 155/200==77.5%. Finally, All those nights and days of
endless reading and study have paid off.

The following is my experience and lession learned for your reference:

I used about 2 months to prepare the exam, registered the test
4 weeks ago in Canada.

1: I read the BOK for three times, the first time, I just read through and
get some sense about the 37 processes. The second time, I read
it and tried to understand, even try to memorize some of the definition,
the distinction and the relationship.
The third time is really challenging to me, I tried to ask my wife as my
student and I explained the BOK2000 to her one concept by one
concept, one process by one process, one page by once page, then
she may ask some questions...
it dramatically improve my memorization and understanding for the BOK.

2: Do not try the some tricky practice questions, just stick the BOK and try
to understand it well. The test does have some tricky questions, but
very few (there are about 8-10 questions that I do not know the answer
at all). If you really do not knwo the answer, just remove some abvoius
wrong answers and pick the most right one you think.

3: Be careful to read through all answers and pick the most right one,
there are may be one or more answers are correct, but you have to
choose the MOST right one.

4: I read some postings in other websites, and somebody suggested
to take the break every 50 questions because the time is enough to
finish. It is true to have the enough time to FINISH but it may not have
enough time to REVIEW if you waste some time. So my suggestions is
that: to choose the most right answer as possible as you can, do not
expect that you have enough time to come back and check again (I
left about 60 questions unreviewed). If you are really tired, just close
your eyes and take a few minutes for break, it works well.

5: Find some related reference books to help you to understand the
concepts and processes. I used Rita's book and ESI's books, I found
that Rita's book is good and ESI's books did not help me lot.

Thank you! Please tell me more detail about the PMP exam on computer, especially the difference about exam procedure with that on paper. I am going to take the exam based on computer on April 25, 2002 in Guangzhou, China.

Hello every one,

I never took the paper PMP exam, it was my first time
to take the PMP exam yesterday, after 20 seconds I finished
the test, the screen shows " Congratulations !!!, you passed,
your score is 155 ...." it looks same as my previous Oracle
and Java certification test.

However, I can still imagine the difference between computerized test and paper test:
For the computerized test, you can mark the questions you are
not sure (I did not use this feature properly), then you just
click "review marked" at the end of the test, then you can
concentrate the unsure questions and do you best to get higher
score.

The most I like the computerized test is what Winnie said here:
I can get the result right the way and do not need to wait for
a few days or weeks to get the result...

However, I found that it will be more tried to stare at the
flashing screen for four hours. In the same room, there are
many people taking different kind of tests such as GMAT,
TOEFL..., they are so noisy when they typing the essay
or ...,

Again, my experience is: try your best to choose the most right
one at the first time, do not expect to review every single
question..

go ahead to discuss more about the real Project Management
because I paretty sure all of you will pass the exam without
any problem.
